Eight Ways to Ensure Failure of Your Software MLM Company
There is nothing, well almost nothing, which cannot be sold via a multi level marketing (MLM) network. As a matter of fact, thus far everything from artwork over meat to furniture has been sold at some point or another by a network marketer. Therefore it is not at all surprising that software is also being sold with the help of multi level marketing networks; however, because of the intrinsic nature that the software industry operates, the failure rate is higher than you might realize. There is a lot of good advice on the ‘Net for those who would use the online marketplace and MLM to sell their computing wares; yet while much of the advice is disregarded as being common sense, the wisdom to create a check list for MLM failure is perhaps a mix of reverse psychology and a warning beacon that if you company falls into any one of these categories, you must rethink your strategy! Thus, without further ado, here are eight ways to ensure failure of your software MLM Company:
1. Your software package has not been properly tested and is riddled with bugs. Perhaps the number one reason why software companies, but MLM software businesses in particular, fail is the fact that the product is sub-standard. The rush to go to market will not only create a problem for the reputation of your product, but a few negative posts on the right forums will also destroy the credibility of your MLM business.
2. Your software package has been tested and works as promised but is not easily expandable, adaptable, or able to grow. In other words, you have created a dead end program that will do one task in one way and will not be updated. It is only a matter of time until another entrepreneur will design another program that will do more, do it faster, and do it in more ways than your little bit of code. Dead end programs will dead end a company in no time.
3. You have not business plan. Failure to structure your business in such a manner that goal setting is a distinct part of the process will result in the failure of any company. No benchmarks, not investor interest!
4. Your website bears all the hallmarks of a scam site. You know the sites with the big toothed marketer’s grin and the text that goes on for ever. Nothing will turn off potential buyers more quickly than this kind of site.
5. You capitalize on contrived reviews. Savvy software users can spot a fake review a mile away. Save your creativity for the press release and instead offer some free copies of the program to bona fide reviewers that either have websites or blogs where they can post their reviews. Be prepared to take your lumps and learn from them!
6. Your marketing is limited to lead exploitation. Spam a user and lose a sale.
7. You have not free samples to hand out, screenshots are not on your website, and tutorials on your site are badly written. The more money you require your customers to pay, the more service and prior sale stroking is expected. Not even industry giants get away with not offering previews and limited time trial versions of new programs!
8. You do not train your network marketers, fail to have a solid compensation plan in place, and overall fail to value those who will work on your behalf to market the product. Enough said.
